Which is better? Zoom or in-person voice lessons
I teach both in-person at my studio in Provo, UT and remotely on Zoom. There are advantages to both. With the advent of Zoom, it is now possible to take voice lessons from experts who do not live near you, and I can find and teach highly talented singers who do not live near me.
Are Zoom voice lessons effective? Can I really learn to sing on Zoom?
That is a valid question. I answer this question with a resounding "Yes, Absolutely!" I have taught hundreds of singers on Zoom and I have had a ton of success! Try it out and see if it is going to be a match for you.

What are voice lessons on Zoom like with you?
For the first 10-20 minutes, I will have you do a series of warm-ups and vocal exercises. These are not only meant to warm up your voice, but also to build and train your voice. In this time, I will teach you vocal technique and how to implement it into your own voice. I will teach you proper breathing, phonation, and resonance. After that, I will have you sing! I will focus on your needs and have you implement vocal technique in your singing.
What styles of singing do you teach?
I specialize in classical singing and opera, but I teach other styles as well, such as musical theater and contemporary styles. All styles of singing share the same foundational principles of healthy vocal technique: breathing, phonation, and resonance.
Why Zoom and not Google Meet, Skype or FaceTime?
Zoom has a great feature that other platforms do not have: excellent audio quality for musicians. I have tested multiple video-conferencing platforms and I have found Zoom to be the best in terms of audio quality, which is extremely important for voice lessons. Other platforms filter out "background noise" and when you sing, the filtering diminishes the audio quality. That's why I choose Zoom for an optimal voice lesson experience.
